Choose the amount to be composed based on what you think is possible in the time you have. You can try recording it if you want to focus purely on vocabulary (rather than writing it all down). |

Go through the text and choose a word that might be vague or that seems suitable for vocabulary expansion.

For example, if the child creates 'we had a nice day' look at the thesaurus for 'nice' and talk about the differences in meaning and ask the child to select another word. |

Choose a few other words as time allows.

Reread the new text with the new words.

You can also look at stories and point out the choices of words the author might have made that makes the story more fun.
